Today my mom invited Eli and I to go to one of my favorite places, I grew up going to as a child, Dollywood! This is Dolly Parton’s amusement park. If you’ve never been it’s a must to take your family there if you love amusement parks, live shows and soul food. It’s a must to leave with her famous cinnamon bread so good and fresh! I was so excited that they had their fall decorations out! Here is what we did while there
What We Rode While At Dollywood
- Big Bear Mountain
- Blazing fury
- Demolition Derby
- Dollywood Express Train Depot
- Dragonflier
- FireChaser Express
- Great Tree Swing
- Lightning Rod
- Mystery Mine (I will say I did not like this ride as it tilts you straight up twice and this jerks you around fyi)
- Rocking Roadway
- Skyrider
- Shooting Star
- Tennessee Tornado
- The Mad Mockingbird
- The Scrambler (one of my favorite rides)
- Thunderhead
- Wild Eagle
Where We Ate
When we go to Dollywood if we are really hungry I love to eat at Aunt Granny’s Restaurant. It’s an all you can eat buffet style. However since covid you can no longer go to the buffet and serve yourself. It’s like Paula Deen’s restaurant where you can choose 3 meats and 4 sides with dessert included. If you are a vegetarian they also have options you can eat there too. I’m not sure if the drinks are included but it’s reasonably priced and the food is delicious. Eli and I got the banana pudding and it was the best I’d ever had.
If you don’t like soul food and you want something quick the next best imo is to try Red’s Drive-In. They offer burgers and fries, salads, and a wrap. For kids they offer PB&J or a turkey wrap.
Also you must get a bag of their fresh kettle popcorn or funnel cake! And ofcourse their cinnamon bread.
