Decided to take the boys [Eli+ my nephew Trevor ] to Wilderness At The Smokies for a last minute trip before school starts. We decided to only stay for 3 days [Monday-Wednesday],that way they would have plenty of time to play at both Wilderness At The Smokies inside/outside waterpark and Soaky Mountain water park. Soaky Mountain waterpark is just across the street, it’s an outdoor waterpark with more slides, a children’s area , food trucks, drinks, and cabanas. This is the newest addition for Wilderness and also welcomes locals and discounts [on certain days of the week]. Wilderness offers tickets for $20 if you stay on property + transportation so you don’t have to pay for parking. We stayed at Wilderness Stone Hill Lodge across from Soaky Mountain waterpark which is a two minute bus shuttle ride. You don’t have to stay on property to visit you can just go to Soaky Mountain or get a day pass for indoor waterpark.
Our first day at Wilderness At The Smokies indoor water dome. This was before Eli got in and swam. I am all for a waterpark but let me warn you the chlorine will take you out inside it is in the air! If you’re someone who has bad allergies like me – take eyedrops and an allergy pill! You can start playing inside at their waterpark starting at noon and can take your luggage to room between 2pm-4pm! Also on your day of checkout once you load up your car you can still enjoy indoor/outdoor waterpark until close. I love this for those who live fairly close to Sevierville! If you like far away you may not want to do this but the option is definitely there!
Soaky Mountain Waterpark
This is Soaky Mountain Waterpark above. We always end up renting a cabana when we go especially if it’s hot outside. The weather was cloudy with a chance of rain but we really enjoyed the Cabana . Honestly this was one of those rare times we didn’t necessarily need it but still glad we got it. Cabana rental to me are expensive but if you have someone in your party who doesn’t swim it would be perfect for them. Comes with a couch, table with 4 chairs and two tanning chairs and a regular chair. You can also charge your phone/devices in there and has a fan inside. I think personally for me and my family it’s worth it only if you stay from open-close.

The photo on the left is the children’s park at Soaky Mountain and the Hang 10 Essee is the surf board option. You do have to sign a waiver upon arrival if you or your children plan to ride this.
Eli at the rooftop pool – it also has private cabanas. I think this is for adults only however there was a ton of children up there and it also has a bar!
