October 10th,2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We just had the most incredible week in Cancun! This was my first time in Cancun and the views were breath taking! Our room was a suite at Westin Resort and Spa<\/strong> and everything we needed was all in one place! We didn\u2019t need to leave the resort! We chose to relax this entire trip with no agenda and just play it by ear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mom guilt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This was our anniversary trip<\/em><\/strong> and we enjoyed being kid free! Although Eli was still in the middle of the school year we still booked the trip. I have such a great support system of those who love and care about my son and thankfully they offered to keep him while we were away! Thank goodness for phones and FaceTime to talk to my sweet baby! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always put my son first, whether I was in a relationship or not. But I believe it is important in a healthy relationship that you prioritize your partner and never stop dating each other! So often when you are in a relationship\/ marriage you stop dating each other and the weight of the world takes over your life! We didn\u2019t want that to happen for us so we made it a priority to continue to fall in love with each other and date!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Often times as mothers we are made to feel immense guilt for doing something for ourselves that make us happy. There is nothing wrong with asking for help, we all need a break sometimes. It\u2019s ok to leave your children with your parents or someone you trust to do something for yourself! I knew he was in good hands so I never worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On our first day when we arrived I couldn\u2019t believe we were in paradise! The prettiest body of water I\u2019d ever seen! We finally got settled into our room and couldn\u2019t wait to get our swim suits on and head down to the beach! I couldn\u2019t wait to sip a strawberry margarita and feel the sand in my toes while the waves crashed against the sand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we ate <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at sunset and enjoyed a few hours along the beach before it was time to go back to our room to rest. The next morning we wanted to grab some breakfast so I got a Starbucks coffee and my wife got a quick snack. We later learned that they had a HUGE buffet! Their breakfast was a buffet with everything you could ever imagine from breads to cheeses. Cereal , oatmeal and hot breakfast including eggs, bacon, hash browns . The fruit choices were very large with everything you could imagine! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch and dinner we chose to eat there. We had the option of 2 restaurants. One was more of a romantic dinner setting on the water and the other was bar food inside that was also the restaurant for room service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank goodness for room service also because we took advantage of every service there! We almost forgot that the currency is different from ours so thankfully having the currency app really helped us since they were on pesos! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMENITIES westin resort and spa offers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They had a full size gym, tennis courts, plenty of private pools and spa! We got a massage everyday and it was so relaxing and healing for the mind,body and soul! One of the love languages my wife and I have is getting a massage . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was also a trip for me to embrace the culture! Taking part in all activities at the resort and supporting local artist trying to make a living by selling their art work! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the things my wife and I did was go parasailing! It was on my bucket list to do and I conquered a fear of mine. Would definitely recommend getting out of your comfort zone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities we participated in <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each day there was something new. There were two ladies named Claudia and Ana who were in charge of arts and crafts! They did an amazing job getting everyone at the resort involved in fun free activities provided by Westin! I was able to make 3 bracelets, I took a finger painting class and they offered Bachata dance classes. Water aerobics and much more! I also learned how to make homemade margaritas! Everyday was very special and I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere! Everyone was SUPER nice and was very helpful although our Spanish wasn\u2019t the best we made it work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one day we ventured out we went to El Palacio de Hierro mall<\/em><\/strong> and we went to Gucci and Louis Vuitton! We were able to pick up a few things on my wish list and we also caught a parade!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We did take a taxi everywhere we needed to go but we loved the fact it was all in one place! This trip was NOT all inclusive!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things we did while we were in Cancun <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • First international trip as a couple of 2 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Went parasailing (the most amazing experience) purchased pictures from our flight<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • We rented 2 jet skis <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Got daily massages which made us melt on the table<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Laid by the beach with no agenda<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Went to Louis Vuitton and Gucci store<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
